"Power of Words"
Jan. 16, 1995
Once a word is sent it can never be retrieved, it belongs
to the air or paper it is transmitted on; until it reaches its destination. Then, and only then, is a word's value is truly realized.
A word has no meaning....until it is received. But once received; it can have unlimited power.
A word can inspire or incite.
A word, no matter how 'worthy', can be worthless. But it also can move a person, an army, or a nation.
A word's meaning, like beauty, is in the eyes/ears of the beholder.
No matter what one wants his words to do, it means little
if the receiver does not embrace the same desire.
So measure your words carefully, make certain you say or write what you mean.
But also remember this may not be enough. How your words
are understood is the true measure of your success.
